STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

NSE/NPE Senior Scholarships

Pursuant to its mission, AATSP Exams (NSE), a program of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), is committed to recognizing student achievement and promoting language proficiency in the studies of Spanish and Portuguese.

To this end, AATSP Exams (NSE) will be offering two types of scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors in 2026. Please take a look at the following scholarship types for 2026:

Travel Scholarship

During the summer of 2026, students will be traveling to Salamanca, Spain with Cursos Internacionales de la Universidad de Salamanca. All US/Spain travel arrangements and coordination will be handled by Xperitas Immersion Travel.

The award includes 20 hours of Spanish language instruction at the University of Salamanca, local transportation, tours, meals, and insurance. Your group will stay at the USAL Student Residences during their stay.

Traditional Scholarship

Awards a one-time $1,000 monetary prize in support of students’ post-secondary studies. Please read the rules and requirements carefully before submitting your application.

Applications Due: May 3, 2026

Graduating high school seniors who have earned NSE or NPE medals in 2024, 2025, and are registered to take the NSE or NPE in 2026 are strongly encouraged to apply.

NOTE: There are two (2) separate applications for the 2026 Senior Scholarships, with different due dates. Students who are interested in applying for both scholarships must fill out both applications on time in order to be considered.
