Karen Sohmer (a colleague), adds, “Delores has been teaching at Summit since the fall of 2000 in both our Lower School & Upper School divisions. Also, she has served as an advisor, a mentor, a tutor, and assisted with our Summit Summer program. I can't say enough about Delores -- we adore her & feel so lucky to have her at Summit! Her energy, excitement & passion for teaching manifest in her high expectations for students. Partnered with compassion & respect, she motivates and encourages students to take positive risks, deepen their knowledge, and apply their learning. Delores brings authenticity, grace, and a willingness to learn & grow to our Summit community. Having a student nominate Delores is not surprising because her students and colleagues love her!”
